Connect Right: Facials, Foxholes & Fav tunes

What a beautiful week! Sunny and 75, cannot complain about that as a VA resident in February. Back into the groove of working, wandering and connecting here in the DMV area. Shall we?

WHERE YOU SHOULD GO IF YOU WANT TO JOIN A GYM...FOR YOUR SKIN...

Blush Med Spa

Yup, you read that right. A legit gym for your skin. I stumbled upon this beautiful little spa when venturing around Shaw one day. Founded by Doctor Arleen Lamba to give us all affordable, accessible and approachable skin services, this place is a dream. I, amongst many, always thought that a facial or any sort of skin treatment meant that I would be spending a biiig chunk of cash that I more than likely did not have. Blush has made this affordable for all of us who are focusing on self-care this year. They have memberships started at just $69/month, which you are most likely spending on just one product alone, so why not get a monthly facial instead? Plus, it is woman-owned, ran and encourages both men and women to #treatyoself.

They also have a ton of organic, vegan and consumer conscious products you can purchase as well. Including a brand called Bitch Stix, where the proceeds benefit survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

WHAT YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS, BEING GENERALLY INSPIRED AND DRINKING CHAMPAGNE AT 11 AM ON A FRIDAY...

Down the Foxhole.

A podcast hosted by the amazingly talented Casey Crowe Taylor and Erin Fabio that explores topics from entrepreneurship to balancing work and play and maybe having champagne during the day on a Friday if you need to. Casey has worked 7+ years in the beauty / PR world and is an amazing wedding photographer, and Erin has 10+ years in the marketing world and sometimes has casual morning chats with fashion models. Completely normal. But really these women are talented, experienced and want to give us all a little advice, encouragement and challenge us to push ourselves to the creative edge. They interview women that have careers in wedding photography to women who own their own product lines and lifestyle brands.

If you want to feel inspired / laugh a lot, listen to them on your morning ride in! Andddd I was just recently on the podcast where we talked all things finance, taxes, management and balance of working for yourself. I talk about how I am a huge believer in having an open mind when it comes to business, and good things will come.

WHAT ELSE I'M LISTENING TO THIS WEEK....

Mt. Joy

Spotify Discover Weekly just gets it. I've actually been listening to these guys for a while now, and tried to keep them a secret butttt they're coming to DC on Friday, May 4 and I already have tickets to see Lord Huron at The Anthem (pretty much a regular there at this point), and selfishly want you to go so you can tell me how amazing they were live!

Talk about warm weather tunes. They gave me some great mental space and inspo on my cross country trip, especially when I was venturing around California.

Turn them on, roll down the windows and give these guys a chance.

Listen to: Sheep, Cardinal and Astrovan

Enjoy the rest of the week wherever you are and see ya next week <3
